Kara Konken (Doralee Rhodes) is so excited return to TheatreZone after playing Fay Templeton in George M!. She is a huge country music fan and can’t wait to share some of Dolly Parton’s music with you. Kara received her musical theater training from Baldwin Wallace University in Berea, Ohio. Her favorite roles include: Cinderella in Into the Woods, Meg Brockie in Brigadoon, Ado Annie in Oklahoma, Bambi in Curtains, Peter Pan in Peter Pan, and Amanda in Bright Lights, Big City. Laura Needle (Judy Bernly) Laura is delighted to return to the stage after appearing in TheaterZone's new annual tradition, Home for the Holidays. She was seen as The Baker's Wife in Into the Woods, Sonya Walsk in They're Playing Our Song, Amy in Company and Logan Schwartzandgrubenierre in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Steven Geyer (Franklin Hart) is always thrilled to return to TheaterZone after playing Repunzell’s Prince in last year’s Into the Woods. Other roles at TheatreZone include Vernon in They’re Playin’ Our Song Nick in Baby and Boone in Whistle Down the Wind Among his Broadway credits, Steve played Kenickie in Grease opposite 13 stars from film, television and Pop Music. National and European Tours include A Christmas Carol with Brian Keith, My Fair Lady with Maximillian Schell, and the pre-Broadway Tour of Little Women dueting with Elaine Stritch. Other Regional roles include: Billy in Anything Goes, Albin in La Cage Aux Folles, and multiple productions as Tony in West Side Story and Joseph in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Favorite TV appearances include the Today show and Tony Award Telecasts. Birdie Newman Kātz (Roz Keith) Birdie is thrilled to be making her TheatreZone debut! A resident of Maine, she has travelled North America in the 2010-11 tour of Fiddler on the Roof as Yente. She has also performed as Golde and many other roles in 8 other Fiddler productions from Maine to Florida. Favorite roles include Miss Andrews in Mary Poppins, The Witch and Jack’s Mom in Into the Woods, Peter in Peter Pan, Adelaide in Guys and Dolls, Eulalie M. Shinn in Music Man, Grandmama in The Addams Family, Stepmother in Cinderella, Clara in Miracle on South Division Street, Dolly in Kitchen Witches and many more. Birdie wrote and starred for 7 years in At Home With the Singing Chef, a musical comedy cooking tv show. She also has performed the National Anthem for several Red Sox, Celtics, Orioles and Bullets games. Birdie’s big claim to fame is a playing The Frowsy Woman in HBO’s Empire Falls in a scene opposite Paul Newman. Birdie owes everything to her wonderful family, Mom, Roger, Jolly, Sharadam, Noodle and Pupcorn. She is also a proud member of AEA!
Alex Jorth (Joe) Alex is so excited to be back at TheatreZone having previously appeared in Mack & Mabel (Frank), Forever Plaid (Frankie) and Godspell (Jesus) in conjunction with FGCU. As a resident of Florida’s southeast coast, Alex has performed throughout the state at such theaters as the Maltz Jupiter Theatre, Palm Beach Dramaworks, The Wick Theatre, Slow Burn Theatre Company, Alhambra Theatre and Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. He has also appeared in the Radio City Christmas Spectacular and the national tour of Footloose, and at the McCarter Theatre Center, Gateway Playhouse, Porthouse Theatre, The Little Theatre on the Square, and several others. Alex is a proud Millikin University graduate, Iowa native, and tennis fanatic.
Clay Cartland (Dwayne) is so happy to be making his debut at TheatreZone! Clay is a South Florida native and a proud recipient of both a Carbonell and two Silver Palm Awards. Recent credits include: Domestic Animals, 1776 (Palm Beach Dramaworks) First Date and The Toxic Avenger (Actors' Playhouse); The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Alhambra Theatre and Dining); Passion, Assassins, and Clark Gable Slept Here (Zoetic Stage); The Wedding Singer and Next to Normal (Slow Burn Theatre); and The Trouble with Doug (Arts Garage). Brett Warner (Josh) Brett is excited to be returning to TheatreZone with the cast of 9 to 5! Previously this year Brett was in TheatreZone's production of George M! the musical. Brett graduated this past year from Northwestern University with a BA in theatre. Some of his favorite roles at Northwestern include Mozart in Amadeus, Dev in Stupid F***ing Bird, Chuck in She Kills Monsters and having the opportunity to be a part of NU's tap dancing company Tonik Tap. Armando Acevedo (Dick) is happy to be returning to TheatreZone to join the cast of 9 to 5. He first appeared in 2015’s They’re Playing Our Song. Later that year he played the role of Amir in GableStage’s acclaimed production of Ayad Akhtar’s Pulitzer-winning Disgraced in his native Miami. He has portrayed multiple doctors, lawyers and detectives on Telemundo and Univision for the Spanish television market and is currently building his bilingual voice over portfolio. Brent Kuenning (Bob Enright) Brent is excited to be back at Theater Zone getting to work with Mark and Karen again. Joseph Strickland (Tinsworthy) Joseph is proud to make his return to the theatre that started it all. He made his equity debut here in Forever Plaid in 2014 and returned the following year for Mack and Mabel in the 2015 season. Whitney Grace (Margaret) Whitney is overjoyed to make her Theatre Zone debut alongside this amazing cast and crew. Whitney has been dancing since she was in diapers and graduated from Palm Beach Atlantic University with a B.S. in Elementary Education and Dance. Whitney was most recently seen as Minnie in West Side Story at The Wick Theatre and Hannah Cohen in The Rothschilds at The Stage Door Theatre. Whitney would like to thank God, her ever-supportive parents, and all live-theatre-goers!
Sharron True (Missy Hart) Sharron is thrilled to return for her third season with TheatreZone! Past TZ credits include They’re Playing Our Song, Sweeney Todd and Whistle Down the Wind. Other favorite performances include The Rocky Horror Show, Young Frankenstein, The Spitfire Grill, The Music Man, Les Miserables, and The Producers among others. Megan Jimenez (Maria) has been putting in the ol’ 9 to 5 since who knows when?! Favorite job to date: being a mom to Charles and Claire! Alana Ferraro (Kathy) After appearing in TheatreZone’s Home for the Holidays, Alana is happy to be back to perform in 9 to 5 this season. Alana is a senior Vocal Performance major at Florida Gulf Coast University. She has starred in TheatreZone’s productions of Godspell (Robin), Xanadu (Kira/Clio), Of Thee I Sing(French Ambassador), the US Regional premier of The Boy from Oz (trio member) and made her Gulfshore opera debut in 2016 as Jean MacLaren in Brigadoon. She has performed in Europe with FGCU’s Chamber Choir where she had the opportunity to perform and tour many places in Austria and the Czech Republic. Further training includes Musiktheaterbavaria’s month long summer program located in Germany. Alana hopes to continue traveling and gaining performance experience.
